It's all just FUN and GAMES!
Interactive pumpkin

One of the best parts of Halloween... messing with the Trick or Treaters that come to the door. This was our project from last year. It was hilarious.

Here is how you do it...

Mount a camera to a helmet. You could just point a webcam at your face, but the helmet cam lets you move your head around and your face stays perfectly still on the pumpkin. I got an extension arm at B&HPhotoVideo.

The GoPro has an HDMI output. The HDMI out will add in some frame delay. An SDI camera would have a little less latency.

Went into a Blackmagic UnltraStudio MiniRecorder.

HDMI in, Thunderbolt out to the computer.

I used Resolume Arena to add some filters and warp the image to fit onto the pumpkin. You could use MadMapper or ProPresenter to map the output.

The final step was the projector. In the video above I was using a mini Pico Projector. Its really small but less than 100 Lumens. On the night we used a 3000 lumen projector hidden in a box decorated with halloween stuff to hide it.
