Go: PSA (Public Service Announcement)  is an interactive presentation tool to help educate and inform people about Pokemon GO.  We wanted to show non-players what all these players were seeing on their phones as they walked around playing the game. Then encourage churches and business to embarrass and engage the players.  (Crowd Control Games is not affiliated with Nintendo or The Pokemon Company. All product names, characters and images are the property of their respective owners )

The good people of Cornwall Church in Washington having some fun. Thanks for being awesome!

THE SET UP

GO: PSA is presentation software that can be used all by itself OR played over the top of other application like ProPresenter (more info here). Launch the App (mac or pc), select a character, then play an animation that show the character getting captured.

CONTROL SCREEN

Launch the application and you will see 5 characters. Click on the one you want to display on the Display screen.

DISPLAY SCREEN

The Display screen should automatically play on your 2nd screen display. If you are running thru a video switcher you can do a "luma key" to overlay the presentation over your live cameras. This will help demonstrate the AR (augmented reality) aspect of the game.

Click an arrow key to see what a "capture" looks like. Animated ball will fly in and "capture" the character.

THE PRESENTATION:

If you are talking to adults, use the app to show and explain what the game is and how it works. There are real world location in the game called "pokestops" these can be parks, monuments, statues, park benches or a church parking lot. The player can collect items at these stops. If your church has a stop near it you will probably be seeing a lot of foot traffic near it. The players are walking around in the heat and using up a lot of battery on their phone. Offering water and a place to plug in is a great way to show some love to the players.

If you work with students you really should be playing Pokemon GO. If you are into games or not this is a great way to connect with students. Download and play the game just so you can be apart of a conversation. You should be able to explain where the closet Pokestops and Gyms are, how to get there, and what kind of Pokemon are around. If your church is a Gym, then you need to be at least level 5 so you can see what is going on there. Remind students to be respectful and be safe. If you want to have some fun with it, get 2 student on stage. Give them 5 min to "explore" the church and take a selfie with a Pokemon. The one with the funniest photo wins.

If you work with younger kids, we want to encourage them to be safe by always being aware of what is going on around them. Randomly during your talk have a character come onto the screen. When the kids see it they raise their hand and act like they are throwing a ball. When 50% of their side is "throwing the ball". Click on that side of the rooms arrow to "throw" the animated ball. Use the scoreboard feature to keep track of who has caught the most.

You can download "Pokemon Go" for free on your phones app store.
